Basic plan for music video

Basic plan for our video
First overview
Our Music video will consist of two main actors of which the plot will revolve around.
The story line for the music video is that the two characters have been together for what seems like forever, this includes through their own hellish battle with drug addiction. However one of them makes it through the drug addiction and the other does not, this leaves both characters wondering how good/bad the others liver is and whether they should have tried harder to help the other person. This leaves the character who is still suffering from addiction to feel alienated and this state is elevated by the drugs they use turning into a uncontrollable feeling of paranoia. Some of the music video will follow this addicted character through their trauma. The final scene will be the two characters meeting one final time, the addicted character will still be that, addicted, while the other character will be finally happy and in control of their life. This contrast will be shown through the mise en scene and in particular the costume of the two character, the addict will be in rough cloths abd will look worse for wear, wile the other character will be looking sharp in a suit and will walk past the addict without even recognising them .
Split into parts

  • Part one, will be the two characters together, one male one female, they will be high and will be enjoying themselves and in particular each other’s company. This will give the audience a feeling of the two characters relationship as long lasting friends.
  • Part two. This part will be the breakup of the two characters as the both fight to become clean of their addiction, The male character will eventually win his battle while the female character will lose hers. This will strain the relationship until the male character can no longer wait for the female character to lose their struggle and he will cut her loos of his life
  • Part 3 will be the female character will be feeling alienated and alone and is depressed from losing her friend. As a result she ends up doing even more drugs. We will not seen the male character in this scene
  • art 4. In this climax the two characters will walk past each other and will not recognise each other until it is too late and then we will have a close up shot of the male character turning around with a puzzled look on his face trying to remember the face he once used to know. The mise en scene will be vital in this part as the two character need now to be shown as opposites, the clothing will be the key in showing this, the female character will be dressed in worn tatty cloths to show that she is a junkie, while the male character will be in a suit and will be looking like a valuable member of society.

  1. It's good to put the early planning on here Alex, but this may be more useful in conjunction with a post of the lyrics. It would also be beneficial for you to post information about the band, its genre, name and song title as well.

  3. The plot had to be slighlt alterd when we were filming, we did not actually have the resources for the male character to sort himself out, so he more disapears. The femal character ends up searching for him in vien. The basic plot was kept that the character get seperated but we made it a bit more of a mystery as we never explain what happens to the male character. It is a sham as we could not use the twist at the end where she thinks she sees Joe in a suit but turns out to be something else, however i beleive that the footage we did capture was good enough.

  4. Good to reflect on what changed. Why did you not have the resources available?
